Located in the northeast part of Harris County, Humble Texas covers 10 square miles of beautiful wooded land. As of 2005 the population has grown to 14,803 people. There are approximately 5,908 housing units as of 2000. The town is just 7 short miles to George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Humble Civic Center and Arena has about 30,000 square feet of functional meeting places. Here you can have a private reception in there glass ballroom or traditional trade show.

History of Humble
Towns are usually named after the first person to arrive or acquire the land. Not so in this case. Pleasant Humble (yes, that was his name!) came to the area a fisherman around the 1850´s, just before the Civil War started. He opened the first post office at his home, telling the surrounding towns to deliver the mail to Humble. The name stuck.
Timber in the region was in abundance and soon Humble blossomed. There was a saw mill purchased by Mr. C.O. Bender and he added on a store where workers could trade for things they needed. What else do you find in Texas but Oil. The Humble Oil and Refining Company produced one of the largest fields in Texas. Bring us to present day and we find the same oil company is still one of the largest, The Exxon Company.

Commercial real estate is thriving in Humble as the Deerbrook Mall can show you. With over 140 stores to browse through. It is located off the 59 Highway in Humble. It also has a 24 movie theater and fine dining and other entertainment. Mall hours are from 10AM to 9PM Monday through Saturday and Sunday 12PM to 6PM. You can call them at (281) 446-6626 to see if your favorite store is there or click on the website above. It's also a great place for that teenager of yours to find a part time job!
Employment in Humble
The top five employers for Humble are the local School District, Humble Independent School District. be the first to find health tips and what´s new at your child´s school on their website. Opened in 1997 the Northeast Medical Center located on Memorial North has access online for job opportunities. Kingwood Medical Center also serves Humble and is just a few miles down the street from Humble. Administaff, Inc. is an outsourcing group with its corporate headquarters in Kingwood. It was rated one of the best places to work in Texas in 2006 by the Texas Monthly. And yes there are not one but two Wal Marts located in Humble just five miles from each other!
