There is a great deal of information at the site of the HCDE. The Special Schools Division of HCDE operates three unique school programs:
Academic and Behavior Center
- There are 2 ABC schools that offer programs for students age 5 to 22 years old with special needs or handicapped children.
Highpoint School -
There are 2 schools designed to keep students who have difficulty following a normal schedule of class,in school. Normally the days are shorter and students are referred here from the schools in the district or the judicial system.
Zenith Project
- This is a short term program designed for students who have demonstrated deficiencies in basic social skills.

Huffman Independent School District - Recent projects completed early 2008 are the Sports Complex, Administration building and a fiber technology science lab. All have been a great success and fantastic addition to our outstanding school district. the Huffman school district is comprised of over 3,000 students and 5 schools.
Copeland Elementary School - Grades 2-3 - Students at Copeland may participate in field trips and class parties. The school is involved with the Big Brother and Big Sister programs in Huffman as well as gifted and talented classes. For parents the school website has the student handbook online. Huffman Intermediate School - Grades 4-5- Children in the Huffman Intermediate school for grades 4 & 5 start to realize life is bigger then their own backyards. Teachers and parents strive to show the kinder side with the Giving Tree at Christmas Time. There are loads of help for children with special needs such as ADD/ADHD and kids dealing with hurricanes. Huffman Middle School - Grades 6-8 - Grades 6, 7, & 8 can be an exiting time for students here at Huffman. There is much concentration not only on academics but also personal hygiene, manners and great learning habits getting them ready for high school. Kids can now join in many social programs such as choir, band and sports activities. 281-324-2598
Hargrave High School - Grades 9-12 - Building character has never been more important then in the high school years. Here at Hargrove we strive to send our students out with strong values and sincere and realistic goals for their future. With the newer curriculum we have integrated more hands-on projects and detailed student challenges. The school offers many chances to "Join In" and student to student tutoring times. 281-324-1845
Disciplinary Alternative Education Program - Although students at DAEP have difficulties with guidelines established on a regular school campus, DAEP offers disciplined and positive structure to help them meet their academic and behavioral responsibilities. 281-324-1871
Humble Independent School District - Over 100 years old, Humble district is quite a bit larger and currently has 24 elementary schools, 7 middle schools and 6 high schools. There is also a Career and Technology Education Center (CATE), QUEST, and Discipline program set up for more then 33,000 students. the Schools Insider is an online communication tool for parents and children alike. Spring Independent School District - The Spring District offers 19 elementary schools, 7 middle schools and 5 high schools as well as Summer schools for high school and middle school students on the web! S.M.A.R.T. Center - Focusing on math, science, and technology the SMART Center provides the opportunity for students of Harris County to achieve valuable and innovative skills. Coming soon will be an exciting program in Engineering Design and Robotics. 281-891-6000 Summer School - Summer school is held from early May to early June and is at various high school and middles schools. The website will give the dates and times for registration. Most classes require payment in check or money order. However they will except cash only for late arrivals. The web page also has the link for teachers interested in signing up to teach summer school. Questions need to be directed to your school counselor.

Spring Branch Independent School District - The Spring Branch District has at least 5 elementary schools offering Pre-Kindergarten classes. There are 31 elementary schools in all, 9 middle schools and 7 high schools. The district has a very comprehensive transportation site and offers field trips for staff and children alike. Check out the page on where your address fits and what schools your children will be attending at the Spring Branch Directory by home address. The home page will give you information on highlights and activities as well as school bond updates.
Summer school for elementary, middle and highschool is offered within the district. There are 13 elementary schools for summer school programs. The website also shows a link for a job application at the bottom of the page. While elementary only offers summer classes for in-district students, middle and high school have classes for both.
